The Vision Zero plan counted 5,169 crashes in the city from 2013 through 2022, with 433 injury crashes, 19 fatal crashes, and 23 deaths, eight of the fatal crashes on state highways, and the latest year in that data tied the ten-year high with five fatal crashes; local police data added 80 injury crashes and three deaths in 2023 and 2024, and 2024 brought the highest number of pedestrian and bicyclist crashes in three years. A red-light crash at US 287 and Dillon Road killed a driver and closed northbound US 287 on May 5, 2025. The City plows primary and secondary snow routes only and does not plow citywide, Boulder County's reconstruction of 120th Street closed it between Rock Creek Circle and Dillon Road from May 26 through December 2026, and the Census Bureau puts the population at 30,116 as of July 2025.
