Trauma Care
UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central
Colorado Springs has the highest level of trauma care available in the state, which matters enormously for catastrophic scooter injuries. UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central is a State of Colorado designated Level I trauma center, one of only four in Colorado and the first in southern Colorado, verified by the American College of Surgeons and staffed around the clock by board-certified trauma surgeons. Penrose Hospital is a Colorado designated Level II trauma center and Primary Stroke Center. Riders here are usually treated locally rather than transferred to Denver, which means the complete injury record is generated in one place. Knowing how to obtain and read that record is central to valuing the case.
