Trauma Care
Two emergency departments, one designation
Lafayette has two places an ambulance might take you, and only one of them carries a trauma designation. Intermountain Health Good Samaritan Hospital at 200 Exempla Circle is a Level II designated trauma facility on the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's own list, verified in August 2026. Community Medical Center's emergency department at 1000 W South Boulder Road is not a designated trauma facility. That distinction is not a criticism of either building, and it matters to your case: which one received you shapes what was documented in the first hours, whether a trauma workup was performed, and whether a transfer record exists. For a head injury or an internal injury, those first hours are the medical foundation of the damages claim, and we collect the whole chain including the field report.
